The Tale of Dovi (Zimbabwean Peanut Butter Beef Stew)
Story updated
Dovi, a rich stew of beef simmered in ground peanuts, tomatoes, and greens, showcases the deep role peanuts play across Southern African cooking. Found throughout Zimbabwe in home kitchens, it's closely related to peanut stews like Zambia's ifisashi and Ghana's groundnut soup, all drawing on peanut cultivation that spread through the region after its introduction from South America.
