The Tale of Brunswick Stew
Story updated
Brunswick stew's origin is genuinely contested between Brunswick County, Virginia, and Brunswick, Georgia, both of which claim to have simmered the first pot in the early 1800s. Originally a hunter's stew built on squirrel or game, it evolved into a tomato-based mix of corn, lima beans, and slow-cooked meat.
