The Tale of Fijian Fish Curry
Story updated
Fijian fish curry reflects the legacy of Indian indentured laborers brought to Fiji by British colonial authorities beginning in 1879. Their descendants, the Indo-Fijian community, built a curry tradition that blended South Asian spice techniques with Fiji's abundant local fish, creating a distinctly Indo-Fijian fusion dish.
