The Tale of Nanaimo Bars
Story updated
Nanaimo bars take their name from the city of Nanaimo, British Columbia, though the exact inventor of the no-bake, three-layer dessert (crumb base, custard filling, chocolate topping) isn't firmly documented. The city even held a contest in the 1980s to try to pin down the definitive original recipe.
