The Tale of Machanka

Machanka is a rich pork-and-gravy stew traditionally ladled over draniki or eaten with bread, a staple of everyday Belarusian home cooking. It doesn't trace to a single inventor or date; rather, it reflects the practical peasant habit of stretching a bit of pork into a hearty gravy for the whole table.
