Pork Carnitas

Ingredients
- 4 lb pork shoulder, cut into large chunks
- 1 onion, quartered
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 orange, juiced
- 2 limes, juiced
- 1 tbsp ground cumin
- 1 tbsp dried oregano
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 12 corn tortillas
Instructions
- 1Place the pork chunks and onion in the slow cooker.
- 2Whisk together the garlic, orange juice, lime juice, cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper, then pour the mixture over the pork along with the chicken broth.
- 3Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 5 hours, until the pork is extremely tender and shreds easily.
- 4Remove the pork, shred it with two forks, and discard the onion pieces if desired.
- 5Spread the shredded pork on a baking sheet and broil for 5 minutes, or crisp it in a hot skillet with a bit of the cooking liquid, until the edges are golden and slightly crispy.
- 6Serve warm in corn tortillas with your favorite toppings.
