The Tale of Yum Yum Sauce
Story updated
Yum yum sauce, the pink, creamy sauce served at American Japanese-style hibachi steakhouses, appears to be an American invention developed at Japanese-American teppanyaki restaurants in the mid-to-late 20th century rather than a dish with roots in Japan itself. Its exact inventor is undocumented.
