The Tale of Lemon Curd
Story updated
Lemon curd originated in 19th-century England, originally served as a spread for scones and tea sandwiches rather than as a dessert sauce. Its preparation, cooking egg yolks, sugar, butter, and lemon juice together, reflects British Victorian-era tea culture.
