Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 onion, diced
- 1/2 green bell pepper, diced
- 3/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp yellow mustard
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 4 hamburger buns
Instructions
- 1Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it into small crumbles as it cooks.
- 2Add the onion and bell pepper and cook for another 4 to 5 minutes until softened, then drain off any excess fat.
- 3Stir in the ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard, mixing until well combined.
- 4Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened, then season with salt and pepper.
- 5Spoon the mixture generously onto the bottom half of each bun and top with the other half before serving.
