Ingredients

  • 2 racks baby back pork ribs
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper, optional
  • 1 1/2 cups barbecue sauce

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat the oven to 300°F and remove the thin membrane from the back of each rack of ribs by loosening a corner with a knife and pulling it off.
  2. 2Mix the brown sugar, paprika, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne, then rub the mixture generously over both sides of the ribs.
  3. 3Wrap each rack tightly in foil and place on a baking sheet, then bake for 2.5 to 3 hours, until the meat is very tender and pulls back from the bone.
  4. 4Carefully open the foil, drain off excess liquid, and brush the ribs generously with barbecue sauce.
  5. 5Increase the oven temperature to 425°F and bake uncovered for 10 to 15 minutes, until the sauce is bubbly and slightly caramelized.
  6. 6Let the ribs rest for 5 minutes before slicing between the bones to serve.
