Ground Pork Lettuce Wraps

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 head butter lettuce, leaves separated
  • 1/2 cup water chestnuts, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced
  • 3 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1/4 cup crushed peanuts, optional

Instructions

  1. 1Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and cook the ground pork, breaking it apart, for 6 to 7 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  2. 2Add the garlic and ginger and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. 3Stir in the water chestnuts, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, and sesame oil, cooking for 2 to 3 minutes until everything is well coated and heated through.
  4. 4Remove the skillet from the heat and sprinkle the pork mixture with green onions.
  5. 5Spoon the warm pork mixture into individual lettuce leaves.
  6. 6Top with crushed peanuts if using and serve immediately while the lettuce is crisp.
