Baked Pork Chops with Apples

Ingredients

  • 4 bone-in pork chops
  • 2 apples, cored and sliced
  • 1 small yellow onion, sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat the oven to 375°F and lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. 2Season the pork chops on both sides with salt and pepper.
  3. 3Heat the olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat and sear the chops for 2 minutes per side, then remove and set aside.
  4. 4In the same skillet, toss the apple and onion slices with the melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  5. 5Nestle the chops back into the skillet on top of the apples and onions, then pour in the chicken broth.
  6. 6Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until the chops reach 145°F and the apples are tender.
  7. 7Let everything rest for 5 minutes before serving the chops topped with the softened apples and onions.
