Ingredients
- 1 lb spaghetti
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb ground pork
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese, plus more for serving
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 24 oz marinara sauce (jarred or homemade)
Instructions
- 1In a large bowl, soak the breadcrumbs in milk for 2 minutes, then mix in the ground beef, ground pork, egg, Parmesan, garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper until just combined.
- 2Roll the mixture into 16 to 18 meatballs, about the size of golf balls, being careful not to pack them too tightly.
- 3Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and brown the meatballs on all sides, about 6 to 8 minutes total; they do not need to be fully cooked through yet.
- 4Pour the marinara sauce over the meatballs, cover, and simmer on low for 20 minutes, turning once, until the meatballs are cooked through and tender.
- 5Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti in well-salted boiling water until al dente, about 9 to 11 minutes, then drain, reserving a little pasta water.
- 6Toss the spaghetti with a bit of the sauce and pasta water to coat, then plate and top with meatballs, extra sauce, and grated Parmesan.
