Beef and Broccoli Lo Mein

Ingredients
- 10 oz lo mein noodles or spaghetti
- 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1 carrot, julienned
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce, divided
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
- 2 green onions, sliced
Instructions
- 1Toss the sliced steak with 1 tablespoon soy sauce and the cornstarch in a bowl and let sit for 10 minutes to tenderize.
- 2Cook the lo mein noodles according to package directions until just tender, then drain and toss with a little oil to prevent sticking.
- 3Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat and sear the beef in a single layer for 1 to 2 minutes per side until browned, then remove and set aside.
- 4Add the remaining oil to the skillet along with the broccoli and carrot, stir-frying for 3 to 4 minutes until crisp-tender.
- 5Add the garlic and ginger and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- 6Whisk together the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and sesame oil, then pour into the skillet along with the noodles and cooked beef, tossing everything together for 2 minutes until heated through and well coated.
- 7Top with sliced green onions and serve hot.
