Ingredients

  • 10 oz lo mein noodles or spaghetti
  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce, divided
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. 1Toss the sliced steak with 1 tablespoon soy sauce and the cornstarch in a bowl and let sit for 10 minutes to tenderize.
  2. 2Cook the lo mein noodles according to package directions until just tender, then drain and toss with a little oil to prevent sticking.
  3. 3Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat and sear the beef in a single layer for 1 to 2 minutes per side until browned, then remove and set aside.
  4. 4Add the remaining oil to the skillet along with the broccoli and carrot, stir-frying for 3 to 4 minutes until crisp-tender.
  5. 5Add the garlic and ginger and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. 6Whisk together the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and sesame oil, then pour into the skillet along with the noodles and cooked beef, tossing everything together for 2 minutes until heated through and well coated.
  7. 7Top with sliced green onions and serve hot.
