The Tale of Simple Key Lime Pie
Story updated
Key lime pie originated in the Florida Keys, likely developed in the late 19th century after canned sweetened condensed milk became available, since fresh dairy was hard to keep on the isolated islands. Its tart Key lime flavor became a signature Florida dessert by the 20th century.
