The Tale of Peach Cobbler

Cobbler developed among British colonists in America, particularly in the South, as settlers lacking proper baking equipment for pies topped fruit with a simple biscuit-like dough instead. Peach cobbler became especially associated with Southern cuisine, given the region's abundant peach orchards.
