Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat the oven to 375°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. 2Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl and set aside.
  3. 3In a large bowl, cream the butter with the granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
  4. 4Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. 5Gradually mix in the flour mixture just until combined, then fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. 6Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. 7Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, until the edges are golden but the centers still look slightly soft.
  8. 8Let the cookies cool on the sheet for 2 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
