The Tale of Sourdough Baguette
Story updated
The baguette's standardized long, thin shape became codified in France in the early 20th century, though elongated French breads existed earlier. Combining it with sourdough fermentation reflects a modern artisan-bread revival, since traditional French baguette-making typically uses commercial yeast.
