The Tale of Garlic Breadsticks
Story updated
Breadsticks (grissini) originated in Turin, Italy, with a popular but not fully verified story crediting their creation to a 17th-century royal physician seeking an easily digestible bread for a sickly young duke. The garlic-buttered version is a more modern American restaurant adaptation.
