Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs ground beef (85/15)
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 15 oz canned refried beans
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 2 cups shredded cheese
  • 6 large flour tortillas
  • Salsa and hot sauce for serving

Instructions

  1. 1Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat for 6-7 minutes, breaking it into crumbles.
  2. 2Drain excess fat, then stir in the taco seasoning and water, simmering for 3-4 minutes until thickened.
  3. 3Warm the refried beans in a small saucepan or the microwave.
  4. 4Warm the tortillas slightly to make them pliable, then layer each with refried beans, rice, seasoned beef, and shredded cheese.
  5. 5Fold in the sides and roll tightly into a burrito.
  6. 6Optionally, sear the burritos seam-side down in a dry skillet over medium heat for 1-2 minutes per side to crisp the outside.
  7. 7Serve with salsa and hot sauce.
