Beef and Mushroom Skillet

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs sirloin steak, thinly sliced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 12 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. 1Season the sliced steak with salt and pepper.
  2. 2Melt 1 tablespoon butter in a large skillet over high heat and sear the beef in batches for 1-2 minutes per side until browned; remove and set aside.
  3. 3Add the remaining butter and cook the onion and mushrooms over medium heat for 7-8 minutes until deeply golden.
  4. 4Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds, then sprinkle in the flour and stir to coat.
  5. 5Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce and simmer for 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. 6Return the beef to the pan and toss to warm through for 1-2 minutes.
  7. 7Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with rice, noodles, or crusty bread.
