Beef and Bean Chili

Ingredients
- 2 lbs ground beef (85/15)
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tbsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 28 oz canned crushed tomatoes
- 15 oz canned kidney beans, drained
- 15 oz canned black beans, drained
- 1 cup beef broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Shredded cheese and sour cream for serving
Instructions
- 1Brown the ground beef with the onion and bell pepper in a large pot over medium-high heat, about 8 minutes, breaking the meat into small pieces.
- 2Drain excess fat, then add the garlic, chili powder, cumin, and smoked paprika, stirring until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- 3Add the crushed tomatoes, kidney beans, black beans, and beef broth, stirring to combine.
- 4Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low and cook uncovered for 30-35 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
- 5Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- 6Ladle into bowls and top with shredded cheese and sour cream.
